Celebrating their 200th Anniversary in Ontario in 2024, Amish Mennonites are today a well established part of provincial history. First arriving in Wilmot Township (Waterloo County) in 1824, today these Anabaptist Christians are represented in Wellesley Township, Perth East, the city of Stratford, and in Whitechurch (NW of Wingham).

A diverse history has seen Amish Mennonites face divisions in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, forming traditional, conservative and progressive branches.
