She earned a BA (History) from the University of Manitoba, a BTh from Canadian Mennonite Bible College (Winnipeg, Man.), and her MDiv from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries (Elkhart, Ind.). She completed a PhD in Biblical Studies at Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Va.
