In Africa there are (2006) 20 countries with Anabaptist-related groups officially associated with Mennonite World Conference.[1] The Anabaptist presence in Africa is largely the result of North American Mennonite missionary efforts in the continent that began as early as the 1890s, and in the 20th century grew at an astounding rate.
