Sheila Klassen-Wiebe

Sheila Klassen-Wiebe grew up on a farm in southern Alberta and was nurtured into faith in the Coaldale Mennonite Church. She earned a BA (History) from the University of Manitoba, a BTh from Canadian Mennonite Bible College (Winnipeg, Man.), and her MDiv from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries (Elkhart, Ind.). She completed a PhD in Biblical Studies at Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Va. Sheila serves as Associate Professor of New Testament at Canadian Mennonite University. She has been teaching at CMU, and before that at Canadian Mennonite Bible College, since 1993. Prior to coming to CMBC/CMU she taught at Swift Current Bible Institute (Sask.) and Elim Bible Institute (Altona, Man.). When Sheila is not working, she finds joy in getting her hands dirty in the garden, running, making delectable desserts, reading novels, and spending time with family and friends. She is currently a member at Charleswood Mennonite Church in Winnipeg where she occasionally teaches adult education and preaches. She is married to Vern, and they have three wonderful young adult daughters: Megan, Rebecca, and Nicolien.
