La Iglesia Evangélica Menonita Boliviana está conformada de 8 congregaciones y tiene 500 miembros.

Historia

En 1958, trabajadores voluntarios llegaron a Santa Cruz para colaborar con las colonias menonitas que se habían formado en 1953. Mientras servían en el área, los trabajadores hicieron contacto con la población local de Bolivia, compartiendo su fe también como sus habilidades agrícolas y de enfermería. En 1970, misioneros de Argentina llegaron para establecer iglesias en las áreas rurales, continuando con los estudios bíblicos que los trabajadores voluntarios habían empezado. El primer bautismo ocurrió en 1975, creando así el inicio de la Iglesia Menonita en Bolivia. De las 8 congregaciones establecidas, tres están localizadas en ciudades y las otras 5 en áreas rurales. La Iglesia es miembra del Congreso Mundial Menonita.

In 1958, service workers arrived in Santa Cruz to collaborate with the Mennonite colonies that had been formed in 1953. As they served in the area, the workers made contacts with the local Bolivian population, sharing their faith as well as their nursing and agricultural skills. Around 1970 mission workers from Argentina arrived to help establish churches in rural areas, building on the Bible studies the service workers had begun. The first baptism took place in 1975, marking the beginning of the Mennonite Church in Bolivia. Of the eight congregations which have been established, three are located in cities and the other five are in rural areas. The church is an Associate Member of MWC.
