What is an Article?

Article pages are the primary content pages on the Global Anabaptist Wiki. They include encyclopedic information about Anabaptist-related groups and organizations. They occupy the main namespace of the Global Anabaptist Wiki. The main namespace does not include pages that are specified for other purposes. In other words, pages that are used for other purposes, like category, special, or file pages, are not places where you should insert the important informative content. For example, the article page entitled Paraguay will general information about Anabaptist-related groups in Paraguay, while the Paraguay category page will include a list of all the articles that fall under the Paraguay category.

Article Content

While the Global Anabaptist Wiki structure is flexible, take into account some of the following suggestions for content organization to help maintain continuity throughout the Global Anabaptist Wiki. Try to include these sections within articles:

  • A brief introductory blurb that gives a basic description of the content of the article.
  • A history section that includes sub headings that clearly distinguish different stages in an organization's or group's history. Subheadings will likely be different for different groups, but some subheadings that you might consider are:
  • Origins
  • Growth
  • Contemporary Trends
  • A section that includes a list of individuals who are important for the congregation, conference, or organization.
  • A section for electronic resources where you can upload electronic documents that relate to the article
  • A citations section for footnotes.
  • An annotated bibliography section that describes important resources that relate to the articles content.
  • An external links section where you can link to other websites that contain important information relating to the article.
  • An acknowledgment section that identifies important contributors.

Article content should be informative and unbiased...
