Christian Aid Ministries opened a clinic in Waslala in 1997, an endeavor that produced six congregations with about 100 members. The churches are supported by and affiliated with the Beachy Amish Mennonite Church. Related Beachy Amish congregations are found in Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and the United States.[1]
