Historia

A missionary witness was begun in Montevideo in 1954. By 1972 there were four congregations which organized themselves and formed the Convención de Iglesias Menonitas in Uruguay. Although in the late 1980’s the churches were still supported by the mission boards in the US, they then began a process to determine what their role was in church planting in Uruguay and continue to discern what kind of churches they are called to be. The Convención is a member of MWC.[1]
