La Iglesia Evangélica Menonita Shalom tiene 109 miembros y está conformada por dos congregaciones (2005).


Historia

La Iglesia Shalom empezó con un grupo pequeño de personas quienes tenían reuniones en sus casa en Caracas en 1990. Con la ayuda y estímulo de otros menonitas en Venezuela, un grupo de 25 adultos formó la Iglesia Evangélica Menonita Shalom en 1991. La iglesia continuó funcionando en hogares y locales rentados hasta que un local permanente fue encontrado en 1993. Recientemente el grupo ha iniciado trabajo misionero en España. Representantes de la iglesia han participado en varias reuniones inter-menonitas desde 1994, y en el 2003 la Iglesia Shalom fue bienvenida como miembra asociada del Congreso Mundial Menonita.

The Shalom church began with a small group of people holding meetings in their home in Caracas in 1990. With the help and encouragement of other Mennonites in Venezuela, a group of about 25 adults formed the Shalom Evangelical Mennonite Church in 1991. The church continued to function out of homes and rented facilities until a permanent facility was found in 1993. Recently the group has initiated mission work in Spain. Representatives of the church have participated in various inter-Mennonite gatherings since 1994, and in 2003 Shalom was welcomed as an associate member of MWC.[1]
