History

The Jamaica Mennonite Church came into being in 1955 as a result of the efforts of mission workers. The thirteen congregations are now part of an independent conference that meets annually for business and worship sessions. The church is actively involved in elementary and special education, and has also developed a correspondence program for Bible study. Close connections and exchanges are maintained with Virginia Mennonite Conference and the Mennonite Church of Trinidad and Tobago. The conference is a member of Mennonite World Conference. [1]...
