Una pareja misionera con visión de ministerio a jóvenes con problemas que no habían sido contactados por iglesias ya establecidas, empezaro la obra en un contexto informal en las casas. El movimiento creció rápidamente ya que los jóvenes encontraron sanamiento y aceptación. La iglesia se ha esparcido por otras partes de Honduras como también en comunidades hispanas en Norte América. Amor Viviente es miembra del Congreso Mundial Menonita.

| − | The Amor Viviente movement began as a charismatic youth ministry in Tegucigalpa in the mid 1970's. A missionary couple with a vision for ministry to troubled youth who were not being reached by established churches began this work in an informal coffee house setting. The movement grew rapidly as many youth found healing and acceptance. The church has spread to other parts of Honduras as well as to Hispanic communities in North America.
